80 Degree Thermostat M57N M57N2

This is a hot weather climate thermostat that opens at 80 degrees instead of the standard 88 degrees.

While a thermostat is absolutely necessary for correct engine operation, most of the stock 88 degree thermostats have been known to fully open late into the mid 90s hence most engines in Africa run how with a stock 88 deg thermostat.

Most people tend to remove the thermostats which is a poor decision. It’s better to replace with a thermostat opening at a much lower temperature than getting rid of it all together.
