The Adapter has 30 conversion ratios selectable with DIP switches, supporting the vast majority of engine and ignition swaps. High-voltage and low-voltage input circuits work with any trigger source from a 5V sensor to a 350V HEI distributor, while dual 5V/12V outputs let the BTA feed ECU’s and pulse-driven accessories, not just tachometers. The input is schmitt-triggered and software-filtered, allowing a simple resistor to filter it for systems with very high amplitude “ring” like HEI, while also allowing it to see very low analog voltages, like wraps on spark-plug wires. Ratios for 5, 7, 9 and 10 give it flexibility to work with fixed-magnet alternators on motorcycles, outboards, and other small engines, avoiding the necessity to tap their often-messy ignition systems
